Golden Turmeric Bliss Balls

Golden Turmeric Bliss Balls

Naturally sweetened and delectable bliss balls, full of nourishing ingredients and vibrant colour to brighten your day and get you through any afternoon slump.

You all know my obsession with turmeric – I love adding it to recipes any time of day, whether that be breakfast bowls, lunch soups, and dinner curries. But now I have found a way to get it into my afternoon treat as well, with these turmeric bliss balls!

Ingredients

Biting into one (or two!) of these is all I need to get through the afternoon. They are full of nourishing plant-based ingredients that are healthy but feel quite indulgent too! I was excited to collaborate with Buy Whole Foods Online for the staple ingredients of this recipe:

  • Turmeric powderA vibrant spice that adds not only colour to any dish, but is also associated with a number of health benefits. It is known to be anti-inflammatory due to its high levels of curcumin.
  • Medjool datesMedjool dates are my definition of nature’s candy. They’re succulently sweet, generously gooey, and delightfully delicious – making for a fantastic natural sweetener!
  • Macadamia nutsMacadamia nuts always feel like an indulgent treat. They’re high in protein and healthy fats, and add a delectable creaminess to this recipe.
  • Cashew nutsCashews are another sweet and creamy nut, and are so versatile! They make for a great base in plant-based mylk, cheese, sauces, dips, and much more.
  • Desiccated coconutCoconut is a great addition to many desserts, and I particularly love sprinkling it on my breakfast bowls. It brings a tropical spin to this recipe, adding extra flavour and texture to these bliss balls.

Golden Turmeric Bliss Balls

Servings 10 bliss balls

Ingredients

  • 8 medjool dates
  • 1/2 cup macadamia nuts
  • 1/2 cup cashews
  • 2 tbsp maple syrup
  • 1/2 tbsp turmeric
  • 1/4 cup desiccated coconut extra for toppings

Instructions

  1. Add the dates, macadamia nuts, cashews, maple syrup and turmeric to the food processor and mix until well incorporated. Add a bit of water (a spoonful should do it!), if needed.
  2. Transfer the mixture to the fridge to set for about 15-20 minutes.

  3. Form the mixture into balls (this recipe made around 10 balls).
  4. Return to the fridge/freezer to further help them set, if needed. Then roll the balls in your choice of toppings – I love using desiccated coconut – and enjoy!

Recipe Notes

Store in the fridge for 3-4 days, or store in the freezer and just take them out about 30 minutes before you want to eat them to defrost.
