Vegan Christmas Recipe Round-Up 2018

Vegan Christmas Recipe Round-Up 2018

A round-up of the vegan recipes I plan to cook up for my family this Christmas, including starters, mains, sides, and desserts!

This year I am cooking up a vegan Christmas spread for my family, and I am so excited about it!

This is my third vegan Christmas, and my first one ever being in charge of the Christmas menu and execution. My family isn’t vegan, so I’m especially appreciative that they’re trusting their Christmas food in my novice chef hands. I don’t entirely know what I have gotten myself into…but I cannot wait to rise to the challenge, and to share these delicious recipes with my family!

Cheekily, this blog post is partially to help me get organised for the day. But I figured while I was at it, I might as well share some vegan Christmas recipe inspo with you all too!

Here are the dishes I plan to whip up for my family this Christmas season, with links included:

STARTERS

Spiced Christmas Drink

  • I recently shared this easy spiced Christmas drink on my blog, and it’s a great way to get the Christmas festivities started.

Easy Vegan Cheese Board

  • Last month for Friendsgiving, my friends and I put together a super quick and easy cheese board. I am hoping to recreate it as best I can here in the US.

MAINS

Vegan Nut Roast

  • Last Christmas a family from my church cooked up this nut roast for me. It uses simple ingredients, and results in delicious flavour. I would definitely recommend it for any holiday table!

Beetroot & Squash Wellingtons with Kale Pesto

  • This past Thanksgiving I went over to a dear friend’s house and she made these incredible Wellingtons for us. They turned out so good, so I definitely want to make these for my family at some point – maybe Christmas Eve, or Boxing Day?

SIDES

One-Bowl Golden Cornbread

  • Of course I had to throw my cornbread into the mix. It’s one of my favourite recipes, and my family has yet to try it!

Roasted Veggies

One of my favourite parts of the whole Christmas spread is the roasted veggies. These are some classic recipes I plan to use:

DESSERTS

Mince Pie

  • Ever since trying my first mince pie six years ago, Christmas doesn’t feel quite complete without mince pies. Last year I made these very easy and super tasty mince pies using gluten-free puff pastry, filling it with store bought mince pie filling (I like Meridian’s), and then topping it with little strips of pastry to create a pie-like topping. Just pop into the oven for about 15-20mins at 200C, until golden brown.

Christmas Pudding

  • Last Christmas a friend made this pudding and brought it to Christmas lunch for us to enjoy (we were the two with special dietary requirements at the meal). It was delicious, so I’m excited to try making this myself.

Gluten-free Vegan Apple Crisp

  • My family has always been an apple pie kind of family. I think apple crisp is a bit easier to whip together than pie, so hopefully it’ll go down a treat!

Vegan Ice Cream

To pair with the pie, I’m planning on getting some vegan ice cream. Some of my favourite UK and US brands are:

What are you planning on making for Christmas? I’d love to hear your own recipe inspirations!

Wishing you all a very Happy Christmas!!

  • Hey Bekah!
Long time know speak and I hope you are having a awesome Christmas celebrating out in America with your family and sister. I helped my dad cook the traditional roast dinner on Xmas day (it was so delicious and so sorry it wasn’t vegan) I won’t say what I had)! But we had lots of veggies, roast potatoes and I had cranberry sauce.
Aww I hope your Xmas feast went well and all of your family enjoyed your vegan food feast and I haven’t even had a mince pie this year. I have got free from mince pies to try and normal ones to try as well. I need to make my own mince pies and I love Halo tub ice cream ? I tried coconut one but It didn’t have much flavour, my friend recommended since she had tried the ht Salted camereal one? Which one is your favourite and where do u get Frill ice cream from? I have looked everywhere but I can’t find frill in supermarkets in my local home town of course in England. Lol.

Enjoy your time over the pond and bring back some American food to do one of yours vegan giveaways when you are back in London. I so want to meet you at another pot luck event. As well I love bringing back food from different countries with all the different pancaking etc, type of foods. I remember when I have been in America on holidays with my parents thst the milk are like in s actual cartons and it’s like it on a,Erica cruise liners which I have been on Royal Caribbean-ships.

Your blog is a,zing and I love reading your new blog content and am I able to get email updates when you post new content?

    Best Wishes
