Green Goodness Smoothie Bowl
My summer staple green smoothie bowl, to get in loads of green plant-based goodness first thing in the morning (or any time of day).
Summertime is my favourite.
I may or may not say that about every season…I genuinely love them all! But right now it’s summer and I am loving it. There’s just something about sunshine and warmth that I constantly crave all year long. Perhaps it comes from living in cities the past nine years where the sun is a rare commodity:
- 4 years in Rochester, NY – where it (literally) snows from October until May
- 5 years (and counting) in London, UK – notorious for overcast skies and rainy days
My mum always jokes that I’ve picked all the wrong places to live (for my weather preferences – I have been quite happy with my city choices for their many other stellar attributes, weather just not being one of them).
It’s been a particularly hot summer in the UK – like high 20s°C, overdosing on sunshine that feels foreign and strange, kind of hot. There have even been (multiple!) days getting into the 30s°C. For London, this is HOT. As a result, smoothie bowls have become a staple in my diet – and I am not complaining! My favourite way to start off the day is with a green smoothie bowl. It always feels like an extra win to get veggies into my breakfast bowls, especially dark leafy ones.
Green Smoothie Bowls All Day Long
My green smoothie bowl obsession has not been contained to breakfast, because breakfast can and should be enjoyed all day long (I’m a breakfast lover, fo’ sho). Plus, if a meal has spinach, it’s basically a frozen salad, right? Lunch smoothie bowls are a common occurrence for me, and I have even ventured into dinner smoothie bowls, and would highly recommend it. Especially for those hot and sticky summer days when you just want something sweet and refreshing, this is your answer.
